What is an SMS Alert Profile?

An SMS Alert profile is the settings created in order for you to receive an SMS Alert about a specific email. It also lets you control what information is sent to your mobile phone.

The SMS Alert Profile allows you to specify which emails you are alerted about by:

Sender
Keywords within the Subject
Keywords within the Message Body (not including Binary emails) -

What are SMS Alerts?

Freeparking SMS Alerts are text messages that are sent to your mobile phone to inform you that an important email has arrived. You use SMS Alert Profiles to configure which emails are important.

Can I send the same SMS Alert to more that one mobile phone?

Yes you can. You can create any number of SMS Alert Profiles so that any number of mobile phones are alerted about received email.-

Can anyone use Freeparking SMS Alerts?

Yes absolutely anyone just as long as they are a Freeparking customer and the email address is handled by us. The service is available in most countries around the world.

Is there a limit to the number of Profiles I can create?

There is no limit. You can create any number of Freeparking SMS Alert Profiles per account, per domain and per email address.

How much does it cost?

Each Freeparking SMS Alert costs just 10p.

Is there a charge to create each profile?

There is no charge to create your Freeparking SMS Alert Profiles and there is no SMS Alerts account set-up fee either.

You just pay for each SMS Alert that is sent.

What can I send in the SMS message?

The maximum length of an SMS text message is 160 characters. We attempt to fit as much information into that space as possible:

All SMS Alerts start with the word "FPALRT" so you can quickly identify an incoming SMS Alert message.

We send the "To" email alias plus 8 characters of the domain name
(ie myname@domainna...)

We send the "From" email alias plus 8 characters of the domain name
(ie sender@domainna...)

You can optionally specify that we send a Custom Message.

If there is space left within the message, we will send as many characters as possible of the Email Subject.

Will I be disturbed by SMS Alerts all through the night?

No you won't. BY default our system does not send SMS Alerts at night, however the Profiles are very flexible. You can request SMS Alerts at any time of the day and you can specify what time your "night" begins and what time your "night" ends.

If you do not want SMS Alerts at night, you can specify what you want us to do with them; either send them to you when your "day" beginss or simply ignore them.

Is there a minimum account top-up required?

Yes. You must deposit at least £10.00 into your SMS Alert account.

How will I know when my account needs recharging?

When your account reaches £1.00 we will send you an email to remind you to top-up your account.

If your account reaches zero we will again send you an email.

If my account balance is zero will my SMS Alerts still get sent?

No. Your SMS Alert account will be suspended pending your next top-up. If you do not add funds to your account within 60 days all profiles will be deleted.

Will I be able to see Stats on my account?

You will be able to view Stats via your SMS Alert account on each profile that you have set-up. You will also be able to view your current balance.
